Employment Process for Certified Personnel
Each individual seeking employment in Dorchester School District Two shall apply in writing and submit the following documents to the Personnel Office as part of the application process:1. An Application Form- Submitted on-line at www.winthrop.edu/scteach (recommended) or submit a handwritten application.
2. A Resume
3. A Xeroxed copy of a VALID South Carolina Teaching Credential (or a VALID out of state credential)
OR
A copy of your PRAXIS scores if you do not have VALID South Carolina Teaching Credential.
4. A sealed copy of your official college transcripts (undergraduate and graduate if applicable)
5. Three professional references- submitted on-line (recommended) as part of the application process.
OR
Submitted directly to the Personnel Office by the reference if you are submitting a handwritten application. If you are a recent graduate, your placement file must be used in lieu of these reference forms.
- The application shall not be considered complete until the documents listed above are received by the Personnel Office.
- APplicants will not be interviewed or cconsidered for employment until the application file is complete.
- When applicants are interviewed by the Personnel Director, their applications are filed in the Personnel Office. When a Principal has vacancies in his/her school, he/she will contact applicants from these files for interviews.
- An applicant must complete an interview with the Personnel Director BEFORE being interviewed by individual Principals.
This application must be complete in every respect by not later than 60 calendar days following the date of filing. Failure to do so will render it ineligible for further consideration, causing it to be discarded from the files.
